About Evergreen Connection

We knew there had to be more to life with Jesus…
Hey, friend. ❤️ It’s Jess and Maddie here—two besties who walked through some pain and chaos in our 20s that, thankfully, Jesus turned around for us. We both grew up in Christian homes with sincere desires to love and serve God, but after painful experiences often brought about by our own choices, we realized something was off. We weren’t always choosing God’s best. We were settling, compromising, and not loving ourselves well.
Something had to change. We had to heal and realign with Jesus, no matter the cost. And like the kind God that He is, He took us on the path of healing Himself.
Our greatest prayer for Evergreen Connection is for you to know your unshakable worth in Jesus and to flourish in every season of life. Just as a tree planted by streams of water stands firm through drought and storms, you were created to thrive—not just survive—by staying deeply rooted in God’s truth.
Instead of constantly feeling…
- Drained—pouring out for everyone else while feeling empty inside
- Unseen—wondering if our worth is measured by accomplishments, appearance, or approval
- Overwhelmed—burdened by anxiety, fear, or the pressure to have it all together
- Disconnected—longing for deeper intimacy with God but unsure how to get there
… we can live with an overflowing cup and a peace that surpasses our understanding and circumstances. Jesus is the Living Water who meets us in every dry and weary place, offering rest, purpose, and unshakable joy amid trials. We pray that this blog will provide encouragement, biblical wisdom, and practical tools to stay connected to Him—your source of life—so you can grow strong, bear fruit, and walk confidently in His love, no matter what season you’re in.
Meet the Founders

Jess Gonzales – Co-Founder
Hi, I’m Jess! I am a Colorado-based child therapist with a passion for helping kids and families navigate life’s challenges. I hold a degree in Theology from Colorado Christian University and a Master’s in Social Work from Liberty University, which have shaped my therapy approach with both empathy and a strong biblical foundation. My husband and I love to spend time in the beautiful mountains and going for walks on the many trails.
Just like the evergreen tree, which keeps its needles through every season, I’ve learned from the Lord’s faithfulness through all seasons of life. My heart is to equip women with the resources and tools they need to navigate biblical womanhood, drawing from my own personal experiences, the wisdom of others, and the rich study of God’s Word. I’m excited you are here and look forward to connecting!

Maddie Ramos – Co-Founder
Hi! I’m Maddie, a new Army wife, marketing copywriter, and hype-woman for your healing journey with Jesus. After living in Colorado for the first 29 years of my life, the evergreen tree is a familiar and powerful symbol to me of resilience, strength, and steadfastness – the type of qualities I pray God is growing in me too. 🙂
I went to Colorado Christian University with Jess where I majored in Communication and Business. Since college, God has allowed me to work for ministries like the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Dare 2 Share, telling stories of lives changed by the Gospel. Throughout my 20s, God dramatically reshaped my childhood faith to be stronger, bolder, and more at rest in Him as a woman. Thanks for being here and I can’t wait to explore the depths of His love with you!
Our Mission
Evergreen Connection exists to offer words of truth and grace through sound doctrine and biblical exegesis. Like the deep roots of an evergreen tree, we desire to equip women to build an evergreen connection with the Lord. As we dedicate ourselves to faithful study of the Word and attentiveness to the Holy Spirit, we can establish ourselves on the unshakeable foundation of God.
Statement of Faith
● We believe in the infallible Word of God comprised of 66 books (39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament).
● We believe that the Bible must be read in context and faithful studying including proper exegesis.
● We believe that both men and women are sinful by nature and are in need of redemption. Through his life, death, and resurrection Jesus offered redemption and saving grace and everyone has access to God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. It is by recognizing our sin, repenting, and turning from our sin that we receive forgiveness through Christ alone.
● We believe in the holy Trinity, one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
● We believe in the incarnation of Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and atoning death on the cross for our sins, his bodily resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of God the Father.
● We believe that we are saved through grace alone, not by works.
● We believe in the present work of the Holy Spirit through believers, which helps us to live godly lives.
● We believe in the consummation of the Kingdom of Jesus when he will return and we as believers will have eternal life with him.
